EC-02, born at ESTACA
From design to manufacturing
Our story begins with a name: EC-02 for ESTACA Cars 02. The second car born in the association’s workshops. Through this project, the team aims to replicate the previous achievements of EC-01. By viewing this page, you will discover our car from every angle, from its construction, pole by pole, to the competition, not forgetting the testing and driving phases.
Chassis
After receiving the cut tubes from the company Aldem, the construction of the EC-02 chassis began in early June. We then painted the EC-02 chassis in the ESTACA workshops. We are now planning to proceed with the assembly of the suspension, the powertrain, the cockpit, and finally the wheels.

Suspensions
A lot of work has been done on the suspension. The suspension arms have been welded, which now allows us to install the hub carriers on the car.
Additionally, spacers have been manufactured to facilitate the assembly of the suspension with the chassis. In parallel, some parts of the pedal box and the clutch are being fabricated.
Finally, the last brackets of EC-02 have also been welded to secure the floor and the firewall (the safety plate separating the engine from the driver).
Bodywork
At the beginning of the month, SC Composite made the molds for the bodywork. Our partner then came to make some adjustments to EC-02, in particular for the passage of the radiator and the wheel triangulations. He will then add reinforcements to the bodywork supports in order to fix it to the chassis and will carry out the entire painting. The bodywork will be finished and delivered in mid-July.
Powertrain
We are now undertaking tests on the powertrain and the harness. Among other things, we have carried out simulations of the ignition of our engine in order to check the proper functioning of the sensors and the calculator.
We will soon be able to come and fix the engine on the chassis in the place provided for this purpose.
EC-02 it's also
Time for test track ...
Our new EC-02 single-seater has finally made its first laps. The whole team is busy carrying out the first test sessions in order to resolve the last teething problems of the car and to start adjusting and optimizing the vehicle. The driver members were able to discover the single-seater on the Jean-Pierre Beltoise circuit in Trappes.
We are also waiting for our sponsors to come so that they can try EC-02 and share their expertise with us.
...then it's the time for competition
As you know, our team left from July 22nd to 25th for the Formula Student in Italy on the Varano Circuit. On the first day, our vehicle was subjected to technical inspection by the jury, which noted several non-compliant parts. The team then worked between Saturday and Sunday to correct all these details in order to validate the technical inspection. We achieved very good results in the static tests:
- 12th out of 40 for the Business Plan,
- 25th out of 40 for the Cost Report,
- 28th out of 40 for the Design.
